La macula bombée (MB) a été initialement décrite en 2008 comme un bombement maculaire au sein de la concavité d’un staphylome myopique ( figure 1 ) [1]. Bien qu’elle soit essentiellement décrite chez des patients myopes, on sait qu’elle peut être présente chez des sujets emmétropes, voire hypermétropes [2]. Son origine reste actuellement méconnue.
